Recruitment Disruptors Celebrate Second Year Success

A company established to disrupt recruitment industry norms is ending its second year in business on a high, bagging contracts worth in excess of £180,000 since January.

Ucruit, which was founded in January 2020 by recruitment expert Brian Creegan, partners with companies across a range of industries including technology, data and telecoms, digital marketing, life sciences, offshore energy and the third sector.

Based on over 15 years’ experience in international recruitment, Brian has turned the mid-level/executive talent acquisition process on its head through innovative pricing and process models. The company’s fundamental aim is to improve the recruitment process outcomes for businesses, in addition to upskilling in-house recruiters and line managers, via practical training and development.

However, having established just prior to the global pandemic, Ucruit’s first year in business took a very different route, with individual - as opposed to corporate - clients taking centre stage. Over a six-month period, Ucruit provided over 500 CV “MOTs” for individuals from across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, offering the service free of charge.

Brian explains: “The uncertainty and restrictions which prevailed during the early months of COVID-19 meant that Ucruit’s initial strategy was difficult to implement. I was, however acutely aware that the uncertainty felt by me, as a new business owner, was also impacting upon job security for so many others, and I felt it imperative to apply my knowledge and experience in a practical way.”

Whilst CV, interview and job search masterclasses remain a popular service, 2021 has seen Ucruit return to its core functions, in tandem with a revitalised economy. This has led to the appointment of Falkirk-based recruitment and training specialist, Stewart Fotheringham, who brings 10+ years’ experience focused on hospitality, tourism & leisure and FMCG.
