About the event

Everyone in the UK should have the opportunity to thrive. Volunteering Matters brings people together to overcome some of society’s most complex issues through the power of volunteering.  Volunteering Matters partners with communities to overcome adversity, tackling social isolation and loneliness, improving health, developing skills and opportunity and making sure young people can lead change. And because it’s a national charity, it can do this at scale, sharing expertise and building partnerships to make an even bigger impact.

Volunteering Matters turn local knowledge and energy into action and progress, building stronger communities and a better future for all.

This session will provide an introduction to what volunteering is & how has volunteering across Forth Valley been impacted by the pandemic, as well as how you can get involved and some information on local volunteering opportunities provided by VM. Including Peer Perspectives and Equip Employability Mentoring.

We are delighted to be joined by Gemma Sharp, Business development Manager from ‘Employee Volunteering’ who will talk you through the benefits of volunteering – not just to individuals and beneficiaries – but to corporate organisations and businesses like yours! We will discuss how you can engage your employees in Volunteering and how to set up Employee Volunteering Services in your organisations.
